ROTHENBURG o. d. TAUBER:

Visit this largely preserved medieval imperial city of Northern Bavaria and get real close to history.
During the approximately 2 1/2 hour drive, we will inform you of this famous town’s history, its surroundings and the integration of Franconia into the kingdom of Bavaria at the time. Among other things in Rothenburg we will see the historical town hall, the market square and the renowned pilgrims’ church, St Jakob. After a thorough tour and some refreshments, it is possible to visit the many little artisanal stores. Here you will also find the most famous manufacture of Christmas ornaments, “Käthe Wohlfahrt”, whose products can be found world-wide.

NUREMBERG:
(Duration: 8-12 hours)
During the drive to Nuremberg, that will last up to 2 hours, we will inform you about the city and region. In Nuremberg among other things you will see the Imperial Castle, the Nazi party rally grounds and the Court, where the Nuremberg trials were held against prominent Nazi war criminals.

AUGSBURG:
(Duration: 5-7 hours)
More than 2000 years of urban history, various epochs of style and the oldest social housing area still in existence. During the 1 hour drive we inform you about the city and its region, Swabia. Among other things in Augsburg we will show you the famous Fuggerei and City Hall’s Golden Hall.

REGENSBURG:
(Duration: 6-12 hours)
During the approximately 90 minute drive, we will inform you about this Roman city of more than 1800 years and the varied role it played in Bavaria over the course of the centuries. In Regensburg we will show you Castle Thurn und Taxis, where you can participate in a public guided tour. Afterwards we will walk through the well preserved medieval town with its many attractions.

This tour can be easily combined with a stop at the famous Weltenburg Abbey with its Asam Church, inn, beer garden and monastery shops. In Kelheim, which is a short boat trip away– via the impressive Danube Narrows, we can take you to King Ludwig I’s renowned Liberation Hall; optionally with the afore-mentioned local guide. Famous memorial Walhalla is situated a little North-East of Regensburg in Donaustauf. (It is a copy of Athen’s Acropolis.) Walhalla was also built by King Ludwig I and contains a collection of busts and memorial plaques of important German historical figures. The building extends high above the Danube and can also be reached via boat from Regensburg.
